ABOUT
Katie Blanchard is an artist and organizer in Minneapolis, MN. Her art practice began making zines in the back of class in her hometown in Northern Michigan, and is suffused with the hope-in-the-dark-winter spirit of all the Midwestern places she has called home. She illustrates to capture the tenderness and rage required to shape and build the worlds we want and need.
Katie uses watercolor, pencil, ink, and digital illustration to design much of her work - and then creates many of her prints via risograph printing. Risograph machines use rich vegetable-based inks in vibrant - and even fluorescent - colors to create lush textural + affordable prints. Check out many examples in Katie’s portfolio.
